Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts submitted to the Arts and Humanities Journal (TUAHJ) must be prepared in accordance with the journal’s scientific and technical requirements. Authors should follow the journal’s approved manuscript template and the requirements for writing, formatting, and referencing.

1. Manuscript Components

Depending on the nature, type, and discipline of the study, a manuscript should include the appropriate elements, such as:

  1. Title of the manuscript.
  2. Abstract.
  3. Keywords.
  4. Introduction.
  5. Literature review or theoretical framework, where appropriate.
  6. Research methodology, where appropriate.
  7. Results, where appropriate.
  8. Discussion, where appropriate.
  9. Conclusions and recommendations, where appropriate.
  10. Acknowledgments, where applicable.
  11. Funding statement, where applicable.
  12. Conflict of interest statement.
  13. Ethical approval statement, where applicable.
  14. Disclosure of the use of artificial intelligence tools, where applicable and in accordance with the journal’s AI policy.
  15. References.

2. Manuscript Title

The manuscript title should be:

  • Clear and precise.
  • Representative of the subject and content of the study.
  • Specific and appropriate to the field of research.

The title should be provided in both Arabic and English.

3. Abstract and Keywords

The manuscript should include a clear and concise abstract that, where appropriate, presents:

  • The purpose of the study.
  • The methodology used.
  • The main findings.
  • The principal conclusions or implications.

Authors should also provide appropriate keywords to facilitate the classification, indexing, and discoverability of the manuscript.

For manuscripts submitted in English, an Arabic abstract should be provided in addition to the English abstract.

4. Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word and according to the journal’s approved manuscript template.

Manuscripts in Arabic

  • Main text: Simplified Arabic
  • Main text font size: 13 pt
  • Main headings: 15 pt, bold
  • Subheadings: 13 pt, bold
  • Footnotes and references: Simplified Arabic, 11 pt

Manuscripts in English

  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Main text font size: 12 pt
  • Main headings: 14 pt, bold
  • Subheadings: 12 pt, bold

Tables, figures, and images must be clear, appropriately numbered, and cited in the manuscript text.

The research paper should not exceed 9,000 words and 30 pages, including the text, abstracts, references, figures, tables, and appendices.

5. Tables, Figures, and Images

Authors should:

  • Number tables and figures consecutively.
  • Provide a clear and appropriate title for each table or figure.
  • Refer to all tables and figures in the manuscript text.
  • Provide images and illustrative materials at a suitable quality for publication.
  • Obtain the necessary permissions when using materials protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights.
  • Avoid manipulating images or data in a manner that could mislead readers or misrepresent the scientific findings.

6. References and Citation

Authors must accurately acknowledge and cite all sources used in their manuscripts in accordance with the citation style adopted by the journal.

Sources may include, depending on the nature of the research:

  • Books.
  • Translated books.
  • Articles published in scholarly journals.
  • Conference papers.
  • Theses and dissertations.
  • Manuscripts and archival sources.
  • Electronic and online scholarly sources.

The journal uses APA 7th edition format for documenting references and in-text citations.

Authors are fully responsible for:

  • The accuracy of bibliographic information.
  • The authenticity and accuracy of cited sources.
  • Avoiding fabricated or non-existent references.
  • Properly acknowledging ideas, text, data, and other material derived from the work of others.
  • Providing the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) or another persistent identifier when available.

Note to Authors

Authors should carefully review their manuscripts and ensure that all scientific, formatting, and referencing requirements have been met before submitting the manuscript through the journal’s online submission system.
