The Impact of Strategic Agility in Crisis Management An Applied Study on the Offices of Finance and Civil Services in Taiz.

Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the impact of strategic agility on crisis management in the executive offices, and identifying the level of strategic agility implementation, as well as its challenges, in the executive offices (finance –civil service) in Taiz. The descriptive approach was used, including the study tool, the questionnaire. The study sample consisted of (149) male and female employees, who are actively serving in the main offices at the government center, and holding the administrative positions. The most important results of the study showed that there is statistically significant impact of strategic agility with its dimensions (strategic sensitivity, unity of command, resource liquidity, and core competencies) in crisis management, in the executive offices (finance –civil service) in Taiz, except for the dimension of core competencies, the level of strategic agility implementation in the executive offices (finance –civil service) is high, at  69.17%, and the level of crisis management practice in the executive offices (finance –civil service) was moderate, at 65.01. The study was concluded by a number of recommendations: Adopting strategic agility as a fundamental work approach in crisis management within executive offices, not merely a set of temporary procedures. The leaderships of the executive offices should embrace the concept of strategic agility as an integrated administrative philosophy during crises; in order to improve the performance level of executive offices in Taiz governorate. Integrating the principles of agility into the strategic and operational plans of the executive offices, identifying and training core competencies to enhance their ability to prepare contingency plans that address emerging gaps during crises, and to enable adaptation and responsiveness in an environment characterized by uncertainty.
