The Maritime Journey in the Poetry of Ali Mahmoud Taha Descriptive Analytical Study

Abstract

This research addresses the maritime journey in the poetry of the Egyptian poet Ali Mahmoud Taha by examining several poetry collections in which his poems are distinguished by a great imaginative ability, focusing on emotion, and characterized by sweet lyricism; and it is no wonder, as he is a product of a captivating environment that has shaped his sensibility with a romantic inclination that has overshadowed his experience, marked it with uniqueness, and enriched it, after it was colored with an artistic harmony that is unmistakable to the recipient's eye. The research discusses in its introduction the general theoretical features of the maritime journey poem in Ali Mahmoud's poetry and traces the influential romantic dimension in its structure, as this dimension distinguishes the experience and marks it with artistic characteristics that are the secret of the quality in the poet's experience. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, as it works to explore the depths of the text and relies on observation, inference, and analysis to reach conclusions. The research concludes that the maritime journey poem in the poet's work reveals his deep connection to the sea and shows the impact of this on his psychological formation. It also expresses the power of his imagery and skill in utilizing the elements of the poem's construction, and its quality to such a degree that it makes him one of the most important poets of navigational nature, in addition to the fact that the maritime journey for him represents a poetic heritage that grants his poetry a distinctiveness and adds many dimensions to his experience
