Education among children in the countries of the so-called Arab Spring. An attempt to monitor the reality of education in light of wars and crises

Abstract

Enjoying life is a right guaranteed by international human rights law as well as by various international laws and laws. In recent years, especially in Arab societies, it has been noted that childhood is almost deprived of its right to enjoy a decent life as a result of armed conflicts, civil wars, and foreign interventions. Which left destruction and an almost total absence of educational institutions and schools, not to mention the interruption of children’s education as a result of their escape from a painful and uncomfortable reality and the practice of studying since 2011. The countries of the so-called "Arab Spring" or the countries of the Arab conflict, such as: Syria, Libya, Yemen, and Iraq, are among the most affected countries in terms of the fragility of the security situation, which was reflected in the reality of childhood, their levels of education, and their displacement

Therefore, this intervention comes to stand on the humanitarian and legal mechanisms to protect children from armed conflicts, trying to highlight the social, educational and moral aspects of preserving the dignity of the conflict child.
