Semantic Study Of The informing of Implicit Verbs
Keywords:
informing, verbal implication, semantic.Abstract
The study examines the informing implicit verbs in Arabic, highlighting their impact on strengthening meaning and their role in adding subtle connotations. This is achieved through the relationship between an explicit verb in the text and an implicit verb inferred by a verbal or situational cue, thereby granting the verb an additional layer of meaning beyond its original one.
In verbal implication, the verb in the text carries an expressive force by conveying two or more meanings, thus forming an informing strength that reveals the semantic subtleties and hidden intentions of speech. Moreover, the occurrence of implication in a text goes beyond merely delivering a message to the recipient; it extends to influencing their behavior, thoughts, emotions, and morals. Therefore, the best representation of this phenomenon can be found in the verses of the Holy Quran.
